Lockdown Anxiety, before, during and after

Arleen is 84 years old, she is a retired nurse and midwife and throughout her career she has never been fazed by any potentially stressful situation, either inside or outside the workplace.  She travelled the world as a young girl with total confidence.  She raised a family whilst working in the NHS, also helping run the family farm alongside her husband.  She is now allegedly retired, although as one of life’s grafters she puts 100% into everything!  Arleen has five grandchildren and currently has her youngest two beautiful little grand-daughters every afternoon while their Mum and Dad work the farm, which is no mean feet for anyone, never mind a lady in her 80s!

I am telling you about Arleen’s background so that you understand that anyone can hit a bump in the road, even the strongest. I have known her to be the most capable, strong lady. She rises to any challenge competently and without a moment’s thought to even question her capability. Over the years she has in fact been my own personal ‘go to’ person, to help talk things through and evaluate them with perspective and insight.

Lockdown anxiety

So, I was more than a little surprised to be asked to help her, and she was quite literally a shell of the amazing woman I knew when I went to see her for a home visit shortly before we were first locked down at the start of the covid pandemic. Because I had been asked, I knew it was serious, as this lady doesn’t take help lightly, so I knew I would have to use all that I had learned during my training to help her overcome this using NLP techniques and hypnotherapy.

Arleen’s story

This is Arleen’s story of her treatment with me in her own words:

“In February 2020 I became very ill, with what was thought to be a serious chest infection,  I could not get enough air into my lungs, and I felt very panicky because of this. I struggled with feelings of what was going on in the world and the stress seemed to take over everything.  My GP prescribed me antibiotics and a steroid inhaler to aid the situation, and also an antidepressant to calm the depression, anxiety and panic attacks that I was also experiencing.

My son became so concerned that he contacted Emma at Natural Life Progressions to see if she could help with my mental state, and she rang me at once. Then she visited, we chatted, and she used NLP techniques and hypnotherapy with me.  With the combination of the orthodox medicine and Emma’s alternative therapy I felt so much better within four days.  I stopped using the antidepressants after five days, and continued using the hypnotherapy recording that Emma had put onto CD for me, which was carefully tailored to my needs.

My panic attacks and  anxiety decreased significantly over the next month, which in turn helped my breathing.  I continued using my recording every morning for a year, and since then have used it as and when the need arises, I have found it invaluable.

I have no hesitation in recommending  Emma’s therapy services. Her free first half hour telephone consultation to chat through options was invaluable in sorting out the problem. She will always advise speaking to a GP before proceeding if needed.  As I found, the combination of Emma’s NLP techniques, hypnotherapy and conventional medicine work so well together.

Throughout the pandemic, which I never expected to last for two years (to date), I have found my recording to be so useful.  Listening to it when the need arises, I recognise those days, and the reassurance and reinforcement of all that I hear on the recording makes me feel confident, capable and strong again.”  Arleen Gould – 84 – retired Nurse and Midwife.

Two years on, Arleen is smiling again!

I am so happy to be able to tell you all that when I visited Arleen today, almost two years since I saw her for our first consultation, that she is back to her amazing self; strong, in control, and smiling with her eyes again.

The first day I saw her, she was broken, and her eyes just had terror in them. We talked and talked, pinpointed the issues, and I offered small NLP techniques up for her to use.  Arleen embraced all the therapy, and the consequence is that she got through, and now has the tools permanently to hand, should there be tough days again.

NLP could be your answer, so get in touch and let me help you overcome your hurdles too.
